Welcome to the proud home of The Black & Silver New Zealand  flag. It’s designed to show you what we stand for, and why.

One thing we don’t stand for is bagging Britain. We still think our old mother country is pretty Great. But being Kiwis, we love our own country more.

And we’ve got a bit of a problem with a flag that

  • makes New Zealand look like Little Australia

  • was sent over from Australia

  • by a man who’d never set foot in New Zealand

  • for an imperial administrator who was just passing through

  • which shows Australia’s cross

  • as a Christian cross

  • contains nothing unique to New Zealand

  • and was approved without public consultation

  • while our troops were overseas

  • wearing silver ferns

More to the point, we think we’ve got a better option. A flag that will make New Zealanders proud, and want to emulate those who’ve – literally or figuratively – achieved highly enough to wear the silver fern.
