Letter to the Prime Minister
David Ellison, who is a Kai Tahu upoko (leader), a retired teacher and soldier, wrote this letter to the Prime Minister to provide expert advice on the symbols of New Zealand much in the same way that George Stanley did in Canada 50 years ago. David has a unique place in New Zealand history, being the descendant of Thomas Ellison, who was the first New Zealand rugby captain and designer of the All Black uniform.
